On Sunday July 16, Linfield Academy coaches were delighted to have a coach education day at New Midgley Park. The coach education in service day was delivered by Glasgow Rangers FC as part of our ongoing footballing relationship.
We were delighted to have Rangers new Academy Director Zeb Jacobs, Lead coach Cameron Campbell and Head Scout Phil Cowan deliver presentations in the meeting room and practical sessions on the pitch.
Zeb Jacobs, although being relatively young, has a wealth of experience and shared some of his experiences of working in Belgium with Royal Antwerp and as Head of coaching at Glasgow Rangers.
Cameron Campbell then put on a practical coaching session on the pitch with a mixture of our 2010 and 2011 squads which the lads worked really hard at and had a very enjoyable time. Again the coaches found this very enjoyable and were able to take notes and photos and hopefully, this will help them on their coaching journey.
We then returned to the meeting room where Cameron did a presentation on the sessions he had delivered on the pitch explaining how and why Rangers implement this style of training and sessions.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Phil, Zeb and Cameron for taking the time to come to Linfield to share some of their expertise and knowledge and hopefully, some time in the future it can happen again.
