The first pre match lunch event of the season took place in the Joe Bambrick suite before the game against Ballymena at Windsor Park yesterday.
The guests were treated to a two course lunch and this was followed by an interview conducted by Linfield director Drew McCoubrey with our special guests for the day, John Garrett and Martin McGaughey.
The guests told some great stories of old and were delighted to have participated in the day which began with Linfield director Jonathan Lamont giving them a tour of the ground.
John in particular was enthralled by the new dressing rooms compared to what they were used to back in their day and Martin was delighted to be reacquainted with his European silver boot which he believed he hadn’t seen for a good number of years. He is delighted that it is still on display in the club’s trophy cabinet.
Thanks to all those who came and supported the event, particularly Peter Mullan and Mervyn Bryson who helped set up the room and the lads from the Raven LSC who brought Martin and John over to the game.
