The Safety of Sports Ground (NI) Order 2006 makes the safety of spectators at designated
grounds (capacity over 5000). Movement of vehicles within the ground is included and
must only be permitted before spectators enter or after they have left the ground.
Failure to comply will affect the safety certification of the ground and result in an
enforced reduction of the spectator capacity. Consequently a range of measures has had
to be put in place to provide safe segregation between pedestrians and vehicles.
These measures include:
- a time constraint on the movement of vehicles, both pre and post match
- a limit to the number of spaces in designated parking areas
- a monitoring of vehicle numbers and movement at games
EMERGENCY SERVICE VEHICLES
Parking space is provided at the rear of the South Stand for the Emergency Services.
Movement of these will only occur if an `emergency is stipulated by the Safety Officer.
Entrance and exit is via Midgley Park.
DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS WITHIN THE STADIUM
- The area to the rear of the Railway Stand 30 vehicles
- The area to the rear of the South Stand 36 vehicles
- The area to the rear of the West Stand 92 vehicles
RAILWAY STAND CAR PARK (DISABLED PERSONS ONLY).
Designated car parking spaces for those holding a Blue badge will be available at the
Railway end forecourt. Entrance
is via Donegall Avenue and passes will be inspected by a steward at a barrier. It is planned to allow admission of these vehicles
up to 30 minutes from kick-off since vehicles and pedestrians are physically separated. Supporters coming via Donegal Avenue will
be directed along the fenced off section adjacent to the railway line. They will join those coming over the footbridge and enter the ground the gate
adjacent to the bridge. After the game supporters on foot must leave by the same route. Those parked in this area will not be able to exit until it
is declared safe to do so by the Safety Officer.
SOUTH STAND CAR PARK.
Designated car parking spaces for those holding an authorisation ticket are available at the rear of the South Stand.
Admission is strictly on the production and display of a valid parking authorisation. Passes to this car park are granted by the LFC management committee
and failure to comply with the conditions of issue may lead to its withdrawal. The only entry is via Midgley Park and all drivers must be in their designated
parking place (allocated by numbers) at least
1 hour before the planned kick- off time.
Spectators on foot have primacy to leave the ground after the game by the East or the West end of the ground. Therefore
no vehicle departures will be permitted until at least 20 minutes after the game and only then, when the Safety Officer so determines.
Time constraints will be strictly enforced.
WEST STAND CAR PARK.
Designated car parking spaces at the rear of the West Stand are for those holding a pre-paid single multiple pass or a one day Club issued pass.
These passes should be displayed on the inside of the car and will be scrutinised by the admitting gate attendant. Admission is by Olympia Drive gate.
Visiting supporters access the North Stand through Midgely Park and since vehicles to this car park cross their route extreme care must be taken to ensure segregation between pedestrians and vehicles at peak times.
Therefore all vehicles must be in their designated parking place (allocated by numbers) at least
1 hour before the planned kick-off time unless advised otherwise.
Again after the game spectators on foot will have primacy to leave the ground and the Safety Officer will authorise vehicle departure when he considers it safe to do s.
Departure of vehicles is therefore unlikely
until at least 20 minutes after the game.
