Glenavon FC has advised Linfield of a Health and Safety decision that the Social Club at Mourneview Park will not be open on the occasion of Linfield's game there on Saturday December 29.
Linfield is therefore keen to ensure that supporters do not arrive early at Mourneview Park expecting to be able to have a drink in the Social Club.
The PSNI has also advised Linfield to remind supporters that alcohol consumption will not be permitted in the streets or area around the ground.
The statement from Glenavon has now been received and added to this news item.
Message from Glenavon Football Club:
STARTS
The game at Mourneview Park on 29 December 2012 between Glenavon FC and Linfield FC has been designated an all ticket, segregated category C game. Due to the terms and conditions imposed on Glenavon FC under its Safety Certificate, and other legal considerations, we regret that visiting Linfield supporters will not be permitted access to the Glenavon Social Club in Mourneview Park either before, during, or immediately after the game.
We apologise to the Linfield supporters for any inconvenience this may cause and we sincerely hope that it will not detract from them having an enjoyable day at Mourneview Park'.
