Nicole Adams committed to Linfield

Nicole Adams spoke to Linfieldfc.com about her plans for next season after training at Olympia Leisure Centre.

“I’m looking forward to going away to Latvia on Thursday with the Under 19 international squad for games against Switzerland, Ukraine and Latvia. It’s always a great honour to be selected to represent Northern Ireland so hopefully, the squad will do well out in Latvia.

Last Saturday was magic winning the Irish Cup with Linfield. It was a great night and one we all enjoyed. All the girls played really well and it was a great achievement and one we’ll never forget. All in all, it’s been an enjoyable and great season. Lifting the two trophies this season has been really special.

I’ve been back with Linfield on loan from Arsenal since the transfer window opened in early July but as much as I enjoyed my time with Arsenal, I’ve decided and I’ve advised Arsenal that I’m going to be staying here. I’m happy with Linfield and as tempting as it is to go back to Arsenal, I’m going to be staying with Linfield next season.

Looking at all my options, the best thing for me is to stay here for another year at least. I’m going to be doing a sports science course in Bangor and then going on to Jordanstown after that, so combining playing with Linfield and doing this college course is what I’m focused on for next year.”
