David Healy “delighted to announce 2 contract extensions and a January addition to the squad”

Posted : 13th November 2019

David Healy announces news of 2 contract extensions and an imminent (but familiar) new signing.

“I’m delighted to be able to advise our supporters that Gareth Deane and Matthew Clarke have agreed and signed new 2 year contract extensions to take effect upon the expiry of their existing contracts at the end of this season.

Although they are both relatively young players at 25 years of age, they are also highly experienced and have been at the club for a considerable period of time. They are fully aware of the pressures and demands at the club and I’m really pleased that they have shown further commitment to the club by signing extended contracts.

I’ve no doubt that they can continue to make a major contribution to the future well being and success of this club.

In recent months we’ve agreed extended contracts with Jordan Stewart, Kirk Millar, Alex Moore, Stephen Fallon and Jamie Mulgrew and it’s great that Gareth Deane and Matthew Clarke can be added to that list of players who’ve shown faith in and commitment to the club, by putting pen to paper with these extended deals.

We will continue to talk to players in the coming weeks and months and we will update supporters once we have definite news to report.

In addition, I can announce that we’ve reached agreement with Kyle McClean for him to join us when the transfer window reopens in early January.

Kyle made a positive impression when he was with us on loan from St. Johnstone at the tail end of last season and he’s been training with us over the past few weeks and playing with the under 21 international squad.

I’m delighted that he will be joining us on a two and a half year contract to take effect from early January and I know his signing and the contract extensions for Matthew and Gareth will be warmly welcomed by our supporters.”
