David Healy provides news of a contract extension for Kyle McClean.
“I’m delighted to be able to advise our supporters that Kyle McClean has today signed a further contract extension.
At present he is contracted until the end of next season but this new contract means that he will be extending his contract by a further year until the end of the 2023-24 season.
He’s been out of the game for a lengthy period due to serious injury but he’s worked incredibly hard to get himself back into the thick of the first team action.
He’s a tremendous person as well as a terrific talent and I’m delighted to get him committed to this longer term contract.
I’ve no doubt that he will make a major contribution to the club during the period of his new contract.
Last week we announced a contract extension for Conor Pepper and now we can confirm a longer term deal for Kyle McClean. We will be working hard in the coming weeks to get more of the players we want to stay (or join) to put pen to paper and hopefully we will be in a position soon to announce more good news.”
Kyle McClean was equally delighted with the agreement on a new extended contract.
“I’m delighted to have agreed to the club’s offer of a new extended contract. It shows the manager and the club have faith in me and I’m very grateful for the trust that has been shown in me.
I’ve been out of action for a long time but it’s been brilliant to be back playing again. I want to thank the medical staff at the club for all they did to get me back into action and I just want to play my part in helping fo bring further success to the club over the duration of my contract.”
