David Healy confirms loan signing of Finnish forward.
“I’m delighted to be able to advise our supporters that 22-year-old forward Eetu Vertainen has joined the club on loan from St Johnstone until the end of the season.
The signing was completed and international clearance received ahead of the closure of the transfer window a week ago but we have had to wait on the receipt of a Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) certificate and this has now been received from the IFA, following the sitting of the GBE panel on Thursday last week.
Eetu was with us at the game in Larne on Friday night (see photo below) and I’m grateful to St Johnstone for their cooperation in the arrangements surrounding this loan deal.
Prior to joining St Johnstone at the start of the season, Eetu has played for Klubi 04, Ilves and HJK in his native Finland and he is a Finnish under 21 international.
He comes to us highly recommended and we are looking forward to working with him. His arrival will increase our options up front and I know our supporters will welcome the news of his signing and make him feel at home during his stay with us.”
