My favourite player - by Junior Blue

I love Niall Quinn, he is my favourite Linfield player ever since I can remember. The year we won the league at Solitude (2021) he was very kind and gave me the shirt he wore during the match. That’s when we first became friends.
After that, Niall would never pass me without a High 5 and asking how I was getting on in my own football team, offering me advice when I needed it. When he comes to our Junior Blues meetings he is very kind, caring and funny as he tells us stories about other players in the team! He is a great role model and someone I look up to.
He has also scored some great and important goals too! In 2022 we won the league at Windsor Park and once we had lifted the Gibson Cup Niall brought it over to me so I could get a photo with him and the trophy and he gave me his winner’s medal!
I have enjoyed playing my part in Niall’s testimonial year and can’t wait to walk out holding his hand as his mascot for one last time at today’s match.
