Linfield FC records with sadness the passing of 67 year old member Sam Spence.

Sam passed away peacefully in the Ulster hospital on the morning of Tuesday March 15.

He was a lifelong supporter from Dundonald who rarely missed a match until illness prevented him in more recent times. The final game he was able to attend was this year’s Irish Cup tie away to Larne this season.

His grand son Jackson advised Linfieldfc.com that his favourite player was the legendary Noel Bailie MBE with his more recent favourite player being another club legend Jamie Mulgrew. His highlight of following the team was the Setanta Cup final, a game and occasion he frequently talked about.

Sam was predeceased by his wife Lynn and daughter Lesley. He is survived by his son Neil and grandchildren Jackson and Eden, to whom the sympathy of everyone at Linfield FC is extended at this very sad time.
