On Saturday Linfield Chairman Roy McGivern, directors Drew McCoubrey and Jonathan Lamont, along with one of the Linfield Vice Presidents Ronnie Morrison welcomed representatives from Swedish second Tier club Osters IF to Windsor Park.
Our Guests were on a weekend trip to Northern Ireland and expressed an interest in coming to Windsor Park which club director Drew McCoubrey arranged.
Firstly, the under 16 game was taken in at New Midgley Park, before lunch was taken in the boardroom.
Osters play in the second league in Sweden but have previously played at the top level being champions 4 times, most recently in 1981.
They play at the 12,000 Visma arena in the small town of Vaxjo and get attendances similar to Linfield.
The representatives of the club were keen to learn more about our set up and in particular about our Academy and they were pleased to meet Glenn Ferguson our head of youth football.
Following lunch they were given a tour of the stadium and presentations took place between the clubs. The guests from Sweden enjoyed their day and we look forward to forging links and remaining in touch.
