Supporter driven appreciation for Jimmy Callacher

Posted : 27th September 2023 at 16:26:29

Prior to Tuesday night’s Premiership game against Crusaders, a special presentation was made by well known Linfield supporters Ivan Ogborn and Robert McKelvey to show appreciation from this club’s supporters to former Linfield star Jimmy Callacher who moved to Seaview during the summer following an exceptional 9 year career with Linfield FC.

The following article has been compiled by Ivan Ogborn and Robert McKelvey who are both pictured below in the photos prior to Tuesday night’s Premiership game against Crusaders.

Supporters’ Thank You to Jimmy Callacher.

Like many supporters, we were devastated when the news of Jimmy Callacher’s departure from Linfield became official back in May.

Accepting that the circumstances behind Jimmy leaving the club were understandable and unfortunate, we felt it was only fitting to mark in some way Jimmy’s stellar service to Linfield over a nine year period. Whilst appreciating that this initiative needed to be 100% supporter led, we shared our intentions with the Linfield board.

Last night’s presentation was only made possible, thanks to the generosity of a number of individual supporters and board members (past and present), other supporter groups and the following supporters’ clubs :

- Belmont LSC
- Co.Armagh LSC
- East End Blues
- Linfield Supporters Trust
- Monkstown True Blues LSC
- Steeple True Blues LSC
- 1st Lisburn Blue LSC
- 1st Raven LSC
- 1st South Belfast LSC.

A special thank you also to a Linfield Trustee who wishes to remain anonymous.

A presentation was also made to Jimmy’s wife, Alex.

The best wishes of everyone at Linfield is with Jimmy, as he recuperates from his recent serious injury.

ONCE A BLUE, ALWAYS A BLUE.

Ivan Ogborn.

And

Rab McKelvey.
