Posted : 19th November 2021 at 15:34:26

On November 13 the players of Belfast Blaze and the Dublin Devils were welcomed to New Midgley Park for the second leg of the Declan Flynn Cup. With Dublin leading 2-1 from the first leg the match was finely balanced. Despite an impressive effort from the Blaze, the match finished 0-0 and the magnificent trophy returned to Dublin.

Both teams were formed to provide an outlet for members of the LGBTQ+ community to play competitively within an inclusive and welcoming environment. The Declan Flynn Cup is played for between the Belfast and Dublin teams in memory of Declan Flynn, who was sadly murdered in Dublin in the early 90s.
