On Saturday 20th November 2021, Linfield Football Club was delighted to host the players of Ardstraw Youth FC U16s from County Tyrone as our guests for our recent Irish League Premiership fixture against Cliftonville FC.
It was an eventful day for the U16 team of Ardstraw Youth FC, who made the 1-hour 45-minute journey to Belfast to play the 2nd Round NIBFA cup match against Belfast team Rosario and ran out winners 2-1.
To complete the day for the County Tyrone club, Linfield FC were then happy to welcome the Ardstraw boys to our home game in the afternoon to witness an excellent Linfield performance and 1-0 victory against the current League leaders Cliftonville.
Linfield do have a connection to Ardstraw Youth FC as current Linfield star Matthew Clarke is a graduate of the club and former Linfield player Ivan Sproule used to manage them with Ivan’s son Sam also playing for the team.
We hope that the boys enjoyed their trip to Belfast and Windsor Park and look forward to hosting them again in the future.
