A young Linfield side left Solitude with a scoreless draw against title chasing Cliftonville in tonight’s Danske Bank NIFL Premiership game.

Tonight’s match at Solitude ended in a scoreless draw but anyone watching will have been mystified as how neither team broke the deadlock. In a real end to end battle, both teams had chances to take home all three points. First half efforts from Bassett, inches over the bar, Marks saw her 25 yd effort crash off the bar and Halliday just inches short of nicking Leckey’s drive across the box could have seen a 3-0 half time lead for Linfield. Keeper Lauren Currie was in outstanding form with two fantastic saves from McGuinness and Callaghan during a pulsating second half. A truly great advert for the domestic women’s game
