New additions to Linfield Ladies squad

Posted : 3rd April 2022 at 22:29:28

With little over two weeks to the start of the Danske Bank NIFL Premiership, manager Phil Lewis has been busy during the pre season period adding some much needed experience and strength to his youthful squad.

Recent announcements of Rachel McConnell and Megan Weatherall from Cliftonville are joined by Clare Timoney, Eilish Ward, Carla Devine, Danielle Winter and goalkeeper Kirsty McCaughtry.

Goalkeeper, Kirsty who has senior experience with both Crusaders and Cliftonville, has returned to NI after a scholarship in America. The U17 and U19 international will bring added competition to the squad.

Clare needs no introductions to Linfield, having been a member of our Premiership and cup winning teams since 2013. The former international is back raring to go and will bring a calm head, experience and leadership to the squad.

Rachel is an attacking midfielder with a great engine and eye for goal who impressed at Portadown before her move to Solitude.

Danielle has come in from hometown club Ballymena Allstars after an excellent season in the NIWFA Championship.

Carla can play across the frontline or deliver the killer cross and is another player with a lot of experience at a young age.

Megan is a competitive and very experienced defender who has been around senior football for many years. A former youth international and current Futsal international, she was a mainstay in the Reds defence in recent years.

Donegal native, Eilish is a versatile midfielder or attacker. A former FAI youth international and another welcome addition to the squad.

We wish them the best of luck as they look forward to the start of the season.
