Friendly Match v Derry City
On Wednesday night, Linfield continued their pre-season preparations with a game at New Midgley Park against fellow Women’s Premiership side Derry City. An energetic Derry side bolstered by a number of new signings made the long trip to Belfast and both teams will have benefited from the workout. Linfield scorers on the night were new signing Carla Devine, Keri Halliday, Rebecca Bassett and Clare Timoney.
Also making her first appearance since rupturing an ACL at Seaview last season was inspirational defender Ashley Hutton. Ashley’s rehabilitation is almost complete and her 30 minute outing is another huge step on the road to full fitness, a league campaign and of course the Euros this summer. After the game Ashley was in great form and delighted to get some competitive match fitness. A dedicated professional, Ash was in with S+C coach Dom Melly on Thursday and in Midgley this afternoon for another session with Phil Lewis.
