NAME - John Armstrong
HOME TOWN - Belfast
DOB - May 16, 1929
SUPPORTERS CLUB - Finaghy Blues LSC
WHERE DO YOU SIT - South Stand until it's recent demolition.
HOW LONG A SUPPORTER - 75 years
FIRST MATCH - It was against Derry City although I can't remember the score.
WHO INFLUENCED YOU MOST - No-one in particular. I just went to games with school friends and have kept going all these years.
IDOLISE ANY PARTICULAR PLAYER - Davy Cochrane who played on the right wing during the War and scored 50 goals in one season. He and Davy Walsh scored over 100 goals that year between them.
CURRENT FAVOURITE PLAYER - Sean Ward - He is so versatile in several positions although I think his best position is in the centre of defence.
ALL TIME GREAT - It must be Jackie Milburn. A wonderful player and gentleman. In his 3 years he scored over 150 goals, many of them blockbusters.
OTHER IRISH LEAGUE PLAYER MOST ADMIRED - Glenn Ferguson - Fergie or Spike as we called him. I wish he was still playing at Windsor. What a partnership he formed with Peter Thompson.
And the present. William Murphy - a great servant of the local game over many years.
FAVOURITE AWAY GROUND - Mourneview Park - An excellent surface and viewing facilities.
MOST MEMORABLE OCCASION FOLLOWING LINFIELD - a 9-2 Christmas victory against Glentoran. I enjoyed my Christmas dinner after that one.
UNLIMITED FUNDS TO BUY A PLAYER - Messi
OTHER TEAMS SUPPORTED - Arsenal, Hibs and Queen of the South.
BEST LINFIELD GOAL SCORED - A real pile driver by Jackie Milburn in an Irish Cup replay against Portadown from 35 yards in a game we won 6-4. I think he scored four that night and former Linfield player Jimmy Walker scored three against us.
WHAT APPEALS MOST ABOUT LINFIELD - Everybody is so friendly. From management to players. Windsor Park is like a second home for me.
WHAT APPEALS MOST ABOUT IRISH LEAGUE - No real long distance travelling and it's mostly talented local players.
